CentraDoc - Overview
CentraDoc is a technology-based, multi-threaded library that has been designed to process
PostScript, Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), PDF, as well as the native Illustrator format.
Our engineering staff has created a robust and trust-worthy solution for developers
who need this technology for their applications. Our library has been field tested for
many years in diverse applications that are currently being distributed and used worldwide.
Components
PSI is our PostScript compatible interpreter library. Fully compliant to the latest
Adobe specification, PSI has been time tested and valued among the most scrutinizing,
highest demanding organizations including desktop publishing as well as
printer manufacturers. The diversity of clients and the various ways they make
use of CentraDoc is a testimant to the flexibility that our library offers.
PDF is our PDF compatible interpreter library. This is a complete native PDF
interpreter (rather than merely a module that converts PDF pages into PostScript streams).
Fully compliant to the latest Adobe specification (with respect to page rendering), PDFI
is being utilized by a broad group of clients who have come to rely on PDFI's accuracy
and performance.
Distiller & PDF Output Kit is a CentraDoc add-on module that provides conversion
from PostScript to PDF, as well as a comprehensive API that will give you the ability
to write native PDF files from your application(s).
Flexibility
RIP - The output from CentraDoc interpreting PostScript, EPS, PDF, and Illustrator files
is the result of our built-in Raster Image Processor. Complete control is given to
the client to affect such things as scaling, viewport, clipping, font control, as well as
the ability to specify ICC color profiling. The end result is a continuous, full color raster
image.
Vector - In addition to the RIP, CentraDoc also allows the client to write their own
vector-based driver that directs CentraDoc to pass high level graphic primitives and text
to the application. This is perfectly suited for desktop publishing applications or those
that would require vector-based graphics primitives and text strings. This vector aspect of
CentraDoc is not merely an after thought, but a functionally rich offering that allows the
client to define exactly what thier graphic environment can and cannot support (for example,
color models, curve styles, clipping methods and font control). Those elements that the
environment don't support are emulated through CentraDoc's exhaustive emulation feature
set.
Licensing
With respect to licensing options, we are one of the most flexible companies who offer this
kind of technology. As a result, we are able to accomidate a broad range of clients. Our
existing clients include some of the worlds largest companies, as well as companies that
contain only a handfull of empoyees. We base our licensing fees upon fair and reasonible
principles, according to use and distribution.
